Durable Replacement Parts for the Toyota Lexus LS430 now Available at Parts Train

by: Jenny McLane
The LS430 is a large, rear-drive sedan, powered by a 4.3-litre, dual overhead cam V8 pumping out 207kW of power and 417Nm of torque. Chief designer of the Lexus LS430, Makoto Ooshima, told American industry journal automotive News the car's design was inspired by the Japanese bullet train as the car was tested in the same wind tunnel. The maker claims the LS430 is the most aerodynamic sedan in the world, with a drag coefficient of 0.25. (An average family sedan is 0.32.)

The 2005 Toyota Lexus LS 430 has powered door-closing system, which pulls the doors tight against the seals. The headlight beams swivel by 15 degrees left or right to follow the road according to speed and steering input and there's a reversing camera that transmits images to a 7in screen that also displays sat-nav information. Voice recognition technology responds to about 300 commands for the navigation, audio and air-conditioning, while Bluetooth technology permits cable-free use of mobile phones and the like. A tyre pressure monitoring system is low-tech in comparison.

The latest version of the 32-valve V8 engine uses less fuel and produces less noxious emissions. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Shift Logic Control that responds to road grade and acceleration/deceleration activity. A Sequential Shift feature also allows the driver to control gearshifts manually, if desired.

"This car's role is to elevate Lexus to a truly world-class level,” said Jim Press, the head of Toyota Motor Sales USA and it means air-cooled seats, automatic rain-sensitive windscreen wipers and parking sensors, Mark Levinson audio/navigation system with handy rear camera, voice command and Bluetooth wireless connections; air suspension; rear door sunshades; rear seat adjuster with power/slide and memory and massage; and parking assist

One of the high technology items built in to every LS430 is a Pre-Collision System (PCS) which can reduce collision severity and damage by use of millimeter-wave radar that detects obstacles in front of the car. If the system determines that a collision is imminent, it retracts the driver and front passenger seatbelts. PCS also prepares the Brake Assist system, which, after the driver applies the brakes, automatically applies increased braking force to help reduce collision speed.

Notable is a Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS) that features variable-force front airbags. The front seat-mounted side airbags have been redesigned to provide a greater coverage area, and the body structure has been strengthened to meet the latest side impact standards, which take into account higher-riding vehicles such as SUVs.

Front and rear side curtain airbags provide protection in certain types of severe side impacts. The LS430 also features knee airbags for the driver and front passenger, four-channel, four-sensor anti-lock brake system (ABS) and the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) that helps control side skids.

Toyota's premium Lexus brand was the top-rated nameplate for the fifth year in a row, with new owners reporting the fewest defects and complaints in a survey by J.D. Power and Associates.

For one of the best entry-level luxury sports sedan on the market, nothing is befitting than the excellently crafted Toyota Replacement Parts at Partstrain. It has in its stock highest quality Toyota body parts that will retain the Toyota's driving dynamics bundled-in technology and its design.

Simply browse at http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByVehicle/TOYOTA and see why customers and Toyota enthusiasts keep coming back to Partstrain for their auto body parts. Consequently, Parts train has a task on its hands when renewing the object of such affection and loyalty. Product excellence and unequalled customer service go hand in hand for every Toyota parts you purchase.

Durable and Long-lasting Radiator Parts now on sale at Parts Train

by: Jenny McLane

Your car radiator is the primary cooling mechanism for your engine. Parts train's Radiators are a simple and elegant solution to the need for engine cooling. Parts train's Radiators are mostly made of aluminum. Light and strong, aluminum is great for making radiators. It is the material of choice for most of today’s radiators. Light and intelligently designed, aluminum radiators are standard on many of today’s new cars and trucks.

A small leak on your Radiator can be indicating a larger problem. A cooling system that runs low too often is less efficient and you can damage your cooling system by letting the coolant level get too low. Too little coolant flow can be bad, but at normal and high operating temperatures, the rate at which coolant moves through the radiator does not change the amount of heat that is dissipated by the cooling cores. The amount of cooling will not be reduced even when the mean temperature of the coolant rises and flows faster.

Many cheap coolants do not have the corrosion protection, PH balancing, or sediment prevention that the top-quality coolants do. These low quality coolants do not have the same additives of name brand coolants. To help your engine stay cooler, rev up your engine slightly when you are overheating in traffic to help push more air across the cooling cores and more coolant through the engine.

All water-cooled radiators have an automatically controlled electric fan on the radiator. The way the system is supposed to work is that, after the engine is started, the thermostat on the engine stays closed until the coolant temperature at the ENGINE reaches 87C (189F) degrees. It is the responsibility of the Radiator to keep the coolant temperature from running too high. However, if the temperature is too high it is not necessarily the radiator.

A poor radiator cap will not last as long or stay properly calibrated, and either open at too low or two high a pressure. Make sure your radiator cap is the proper one for your cooling system. Higher pressure means a higher boiling point, which means more efficient cooling. A new radiator cap is usually all that is required for this (but don’t over pressurize your radiator cores and wreck the whole system).

Most Radiators' cooling system failures arise from poor radiator maintenance. Many radiator problems can be prevented with regular maintenance and periodic professional inspections of you car radiator and cooling system. The most common radiator problems are: leaky fittings or seams, fin deterioration and bond failure, electrolysis, cracked tank, and fan damage.

Parts train's Aftermarket Parts, Replacement Parts and top grade Radiators are reasonably priced and the company makes sure they are durable. Parts train offers Volvo parts focused on reliability, quality, great designs and affordable price. With the Volvo tradition of designing efficient and innovative cars, Parts train has in its stock the widest array as well high standard Volvo Parts, Performance Parts, and Replacement Parts.

Driving Safely in the Dark

by: Terry Brown

Safety is a primary concern for all drivers, especially at night. Although there are fewer cars on the road, most fatal car accidents happen at night than any other time of the day. Our ability to see the road ahead is seriously impaired at night. Darkness can dramatically alter the driver's ability to cope with even the most normal driving conditions.

As we are more vulnerable to dangerous road situations at night or in low visibility, we should double our preparedness, alertness and common sense when driving at night. Preventive maintenance is one of the best ways to protect ourselves from potentially dangerous situations on the road. Here are some of the most important points to consider when driving in the dark.

The most important difference in night driving is visibility. At night, we become completely dependent on artificial sources of light to help us see and show us where we are going. Highway signs, pedestrians, and other vehicles are more difficult to see at night. Thus, lights, mirrors, and windows are doubly important at night. We should maintain clear, clean and scratch-free mirrors and windows. They should not be clouded by steam, frost, water droplets or tarnished by cracks or scratches.

Your entire car's lighting equipments must be in good condition to ensure safety when driving in the dark. Headlights, Tail Lights, Corner Lights , signal lamps, license plate lights and others all play a big role in your safety when driving at night. Your lights should be turned on during the night especially during periods of rain, snow, hail, sleet or fog. Make sure that your headlights are properly aimed.

Have it checked by a professional to make sure that all the lights work. Keep your headlights and your windshields clean. Remember that your lights are your only communication with other drivers on the road. Make sure that your windshield is clean, clear and unobstructed so that you can see what's ahead of you. One of the most hazardous habits that that drivers do during the night is "overdriving" the headlights of their vehicles.

Headlights as well as other lights, mirrors, windows, windshields all play an important role in keeping you safe when driving at night. Thus, these auto parts must be maintained in good condition or replaced as soon as they get damaged or defective. Fortunately, you can easily get replacement GMC Parts including GMC Headlights, GMC Mirrors, GMC Window regulators and others.

However, you should carefully choose the auto parts you are going to purchase. A good tip is to stick with a reliable and trusted auto parts store. If you want to shop for GMC auto parts the fast and easy way, then online auto parts stores are an excellent choice.

Inner Auto Parts is known as an excellent source of quality, relevant auto information. Now, Inner Auto Parts offers high quality and affordable replacement parts that are manufactured by the best auto parts makers in the industry. Drive slower, save the planet!

by: Sophie Evans

The environment is a hot issue that we just can’t afford to ignore any longer. To some, being environmentally aware is a way of life, a necessary and fundamental aspect of existence. To others being ‘green’ is something to aspire to, a lifestyle that with a bit of guidance could be achievable.

Young people have been brought up in a culture of ecological revelations, such as the depletion of the ozone layer and melting polar ice caps. We all know that these things are still happening yet we’ve still got a long way to go before the impacts of modern society on our planet are decelerated.

Our parents weren’t particularly clued up about the effect that peoples’ actions have on their environment and recycling was certainly never an option in many houses in the 80s and 90s. However, these days we do have the resources and the knowledge to make little changes that can improve the planet for the better. If we can slow down on the road then we might be able to slow down climate change.

High levels of Co2 emissions are one of the biggest influencers of climate change and environmental damage. Exhaust emissions contain a myriad of chemicals which clog up the atmosphere and cause long term damage to our surroundings. Aviation contributes to a large proportion of the damage.

Each jet requires hundreds of thousands of gallons of fuel to get to its destination. Short of getting to your holiday resort by rail, a bit tricky if you’re off to the Maldives, there is little that you or I can do about aviation emissions. However, drivers can make a massive difference to the environment by taking a few steps to reduce their emissions and help reduce harmful pollution.

You can reduce the amount of fuel you use by up to 25% by changing some of your habits. Driving is expensive, with the cost of car insurance, road tax and fuel to consider. It’s not difficult to alter your lifestyle; we owe it to our future offspring and more importantly right now, we owe it to our pockets! Whilst we may not live long enough to see the benefit to the environment we can feel the immediate benefit to our pockets.

By being slightly more conscientious drivers we can all make a huge difference. Follow these tips from www.hootcarinsurance.co.uk and you’ll soon help protect the planet and feel the immediate payback in your pocket.

• Keep a steady speed when driving; by reducing the use of your pedals you reduce the use of fuel.

• Anticipate conditions, and accelerate and decelerate efficiently. This is safer and uses less fuel. It is also proven that you won’t get to your destination faster by speeding. According to Earteasy.com the most fuel-efficient speed for your car is roughly 55 mph, or 90 km/h. Increasing your speed from 55 mph to 75 mph boosts your fuel consumption a stunning 20 percent!

• If you are in traffic or caught behind railway gates, then turn off your engine. Idling uses up a great deal of fuel especially when some train gates stay down for as long as ten minutes.

• Keep your tyres pumped up to the correct level. This will save you up to 4% fuel.

• Maintain your car and change the air filter as recommended by the manufacturers’ guidelines.

• If at all possible, car share to work, this will save you money and give you a clear conscience! Some companies arrange car share schemes as do some local councils. See www.nationalcarshare.co.uk and www.liftshare.co.uk for more information.

• Walk to work if you live nearby. Not only will this keep you fit but you’ll also save fuel and money.

• Buy a car with a small engine. This will not only cut emissions but also means really cheap car insurance, cheaper tax and manoeuvrability in busy towns. Driving a 4x4 means 50% less fuel efficiency, so unless you are a farmer and regularly go off road, there really is no need to drive a gas guzzling vehicle in urban areas. By the way spray on mud is a dead giveaway!

So, we can all cut our costs and save the planet at the same time by making a few changes to the way we drive, but what about the future of fuel? Surely driving more slowly can’t be the only solution?

The future of travel
There are some innovative new energy solutions, new engine designs and hybrid car concepts which are set to take off in the years to come.

Hybrid cars are vehicles that have an ordinary combustion engine combined with another energy source such as batteries or electricity. The alternative energy source takes over from the engine when it is inefficient, such as during long slow drives. These hybrids are extremely efficient and half as polluting as normal cars with petrol engines.

The good news is you don’t even have to change your beloved car because it can be converted as long as it’s less than six years old. This can be costly but long term it could save you money. There are also several government schemes running that can help you to convert your car. Some manufacturers have already caught onto the benefits of hybrid vehicles. For examples of hybrids look at the Toyota Prius, the Ford Escape and the Honda

Accord to name but a few.
Electric cars may be the way ahead for city dwellers. With no emissions and using a quarter of the energy consumption of a similar sized petrol car they may revolutionise driving in the longer term. Although the cars currently on the market only drive at a maximum of 40 mph, they are exempt from tax, some congestion charges and great news for young people… they are in the lowest car insurance group. After the initial outlay of around £8,000 the car is cheap to run and extremely eco-friendly.
The future of fuel
Sulphur free fuel: We can expect to be able to buy this by 2008, in fact this will become compulsory by that date.

Biodiesel: This is a blend of 95% low sulphur diesel and 5% rapeseed oil. This reduces CO2 emissions by as much as 5% and can be used in an engine that hasn’t been converted to this type of fuel.

Bioethanol: Although this could take years to become widely available it produces less air pollutants and is renewable. It is made through the distillation of wheat, sugar or biomass. It can be used blended in unmodified engines or straight in modified engines.

The future of our environment is in our hands. If you can’t afford to buy a hybrid car or convert your engine, you can certainly make a start on your eco friendly lifestyle by following the driving tips above. It’s not too late to decelerate the impact of our polluting behaviour by decelerating our driving. It really is worth it for the future of the planet and for the health of our bank balances.

Driver Education - Auto Insurance Tips

by: Ispas Marin
From the beginning, starting with your first contact with whatever is connected to driving and cars, you must have heard of the utmost important aspect:the car insurance. To a certain extent the driver education must deal with this aspect which is vital for the driver and the car in itself.

There are many companies specialized in this field but you should know that there are many of them which make certain advantageous offers such as discounts for the good grades As and Bs, yet, for that you need to qualify;you should get in touch with your insurance company for it.Some discounts are given also for the application for some driver programs, these being quite advantageous too.

In addition, if you can make a choice, replace the new teen driver or family driver on the oldest and least expensive automobile. This can and will save you the rates. Whenever thinking about buying a new or second-hand car, make sure you get in touch with your insurance company to see if the rate will suit you and your finances.

It is likely for you, without checking with the insurance company, to think over a car which is too expensive for you or just not suitable. As general piece of information, you should know that sports cars or other high-cost cars are due to have higher rates, thus disabling you to pay in time. It is also important to know what you buy.

If you want to buy a car, it is utmost necessary to know what that car can do. These technical aspects can be revealed to you by means of a driver education course or just specialized magazines, provided you already bear the basic information.

Another aspect is the one related to the crash safety rating, because a percentage is given to every car according to this issue. You should always know how safe is the car you are driving, how well it can protect you. As well as the other aspects, you can learn this from the driver education course. In the unfortunate case of an accident, you should be aware of the average cost to repair it, in the case of the one-side insurance. If you want to replace your insurance check the rates of a greater number of companies because they vary from one company to another.

Furthermore, every driver education course introduces the idea of the necessity to keep a camera with you in case an accident may occur;you could register the damage of all cars and the real placement.

There are cases when the actual victim is found responsible for the simple fact that there are a lot of ideas and beliefs which alter the truth of an accident. A camera may come in hand if you get involved in a minor accident;you may want to get your car fixed without reporting it to the company. For a teenager, even a minor accident may lead to an increase in the rates, or maybe even more.

Drive Away with a Good Deal

by: ARA
(ARA) - With interest rates at all-time lows, consumers are taking advantage of the long-term savings on big ticket items like cars. If you’re one of the many people who are planning to buy or lease a new car, make sure your finances are in order so the purchase process is hassle free.

First, do an honest assessment of your current financial situation. Can you really afford to buy or lease a new car, or does it make more sense to get as many miles as possible out of your current car? Despite low interest rates, a new car isn’t a bargain if it means you’ll be turning to credit cards to pay other bills. You know the details of your expenses and budget better than anyone else. Doing your homework before you shop will enable you to set a payment you can live with.

Once you can say for certain that new car payments fit within your budget, you need to turn your attention to your credit rating.

Lenders will use a report from one, two, or all three of the credit reporting agencies to assess your creditworthiness, so your first step should be reviewing your credit report(s) for accuracy and for any information that may hurt your chances of getting a loan. The information on the credit report can also affect the interest rate the lender will give you. The easiest way to get a copy of your credit report is from an online service like www.creditmatters.com.

If you find inaccuracies on your credit report, you should take steps to correct that information before you apply for a car loan. Look for obvious mistakes on your report, such as credit card accounts that aren’t yours and closed accounts that have not been used for more than seven years, but are still showing as open. You can dispute items that you feel are inaccurate with the credit reporting agency by following the directions included with your credit report.

If you have a large number of credit cards, you may want to consider canceling some of your accounts. Lenders may look at these open credit accounts as potential debt. Likewise, every time you apply for credit, lenders will more than likely request a copy of your credit report. Multiple inquiries from lenders or creditors can lower your credit rating, so minimize the number of inquiries to your report until you get your auto loan.

If your credit history isn’t as good as you’d like, there are no quick fixes, but time, as they say, is on your side. Many lenders focus on the past two or three years of your credit history, so with a plan and some patience, you can boost your credit rating.

Take control of your credit by paying bills on time. Cancel any credit cards you aren’t using or minimize excessive amounts of available credit, which could tempt you to buy things you can’t really afford. Gather all your bills and draw up a budget that allows you to pay them off one at a time, focusing on the account with the highest interest rate first.

Having a co-signer may make it easier to obtain a loan if your credit is not perfect. But before you ask a friend or family member to co-sign, be sure you both understand what that entails. A co-signer is guaranteeing this debt. If the borrower does not pay, the co-signer may have to pay up to the full amount of the debt, and if he or she can’t pay in full, their credit rating will be adversely affected. Additionally, late payments will go on both credit reports.

Even though you would never put your co-signer in this position on purpose, consider what would happen if you lost your job, for example. Are you willing to risk your relationship with your co-signer for a new car?

Buying a new car should be fun and exciting -- you get to pick the make, model, color, and options. Arming yourself with the facts ahead of time will help take the hassle out of car buying and put a smile on your face as you drive off the lot knowing you got a good deal.
For more information on taking control of your credit rating, visit www.creditmatters.com.

Do Your Part For The Environment, Your Health, And Your Wallet

by: David Rolle'

Vehicle owners nationwide have the same complaint; the high price of gasoline. It's as if you're going to work just to pay for the gas to fill up your tank. Everyone knows when the price of oil goes up, the cost of everything else rises. And the price of keeping your engine running smooth always puts you back in the hole financially.

People who dwell in larger cities constantly breathe in poisons released in the air. Research on this pollution problem is well established. Pollutants coming from cars and trucks are responsible for lung disease, lung cancer and asthma. But that's not all. New research has shown that the poisons coming from our cars and trucks are responsible for increases in many types of cancers, heart disease, and even Alzheimer's disease.

An Easy Way to Help Stop Pollution and Save Your Lungs
A good suggestion would be to find a product that reduces toxicity in the air, while extending the life expectancy of your car's engine. Ideally, the product should be effective when used in small amounts and be unique (can be used in gasoline, diesel, RFG, biodiesel, and propane). This product is known as a fuel catalyst, which has been used successfully for over 9 years by thousands of people, as well as city governments, large trucking lines, railroads, farming, and boating companies.

Save Money While Improving Your Mileage
Your product should save you money by reducing fuel consumption and engine maintenance, in addition to the positive environmental effects. If your product can supercharge your gas, you'll spend less but drive further on every tank of gas! Getting up to 35ncrease in gas mileage would certainly be worth your money and time. Just make sure that your product is affordable, yet able to work in all gas vehicles.

To recap, you should look for a product that (a) doesn't poison our air, (b) keeps our lungs healthy and strong, and (c) stop wasting money on gas and engine repair. Let's keep Planet Earth fresh for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.

Do you have enough car insurance?

by: Jeff Lakie

Many people who reserve a rental car show up to the counter with little thought given to the “what if's” that could result from them driving a car that is not their own. You wouldn't think of driving your own car without coverage, so take a few moments to consider how you will make sure that your rental car is covered. Here are 3 steps to take to ensure you have adequate coverage.

1. When you're calling the rental car company for a quote, find out how much the coverage costs and what it covers. Their rates for insurance/coverage may be higher but they also offer the least hassle, since you may not have to file a claim on your own insurance. Many car rental companies have a couple of options, including buying down the deductible to a hundred dollars (or so, depending on where you live) or even to zero.

2. Contact your car insurance company. They may already cover you for rental cars in certain situations. For example, if your car is in the shop, they may automatically transfer your coverage and deductible to a rental car. This is a replacement-only type of coverage because they are covering you on a different car. For an additional cost, you may be able to purchase either a temporary or ongoing rider (depending on the insurance company) to cover your rental car even if your car is not in the shop. This is considered a non-replacement-type of coverage since you will need coverage on both cars because they potentially could both be driven.

3. Contact your credit card company or check out the Cardholder's Agreement. Your credit card may cover you for rental car insurance. Check to see that they cover you in your specific situation. For example, there are certain cars they cover (some don't cover trucks or SUVs) or they may not cover you depending on where you drive or how long you have the car.

Armed with this knowledge, you can make an educated estimate of what the costs are to ensure that you are fully covered on your rental car. After all, you want to have peace-of-mind when you're on your next trip.

Does Your Car’s Air Filter Need Replacing?

by: ARA Content

(ARA) How good are you about changing your vehicle’s air filter? The owner’s manuals in most cars and trucks recommend you check the filter -- which is designed to trap dirt and contaminants before they reach your engine -- every time you get an oil change, and replace it whenever it’s dirty or has been driven 20,000 miles, whichever comes first. For people who regularly drive on dirt or sand roads, that could be every 5,000 miles, but not everyone does it in a timely fashion.

If it’s too dirty, the air filter won’t trap dirt particles, which can damage engine cylinders, walls, pistons and piston rings, severely impacting fuel economy and engine performance. An inefficient engine can cause air pollution. The situation has gotten so bad in some states, they now require vehicles to pass engine emissions tests to stay on the road. In many cases, drivers find out their vehicle’s failed because of a dirty air filter.

Visteon, one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world, has come up with a solution that will ensure you never have a dirty filter again. The Long Life Filtration System is a fully sealed air induction system designed to remove contaminants from engine intake air while providing noise control with minimal power loss. It contains a reticulated, or networked foam filter, designed to last more than 150,000 miles under normal use. Ford is the first automobile manufacturer to offer the new high-tech air filter as standard equipment in two of its 2005 models: the F150 and Focus.

“This technology saves space in the engine compartment because it can be placed in another area of the vehicle, such as just behind the instrument panel. It saves consumers time and money because it doesn’t require routine maintenance,'' says Greg Green, an engineering supervisor in Visteon's powertrain product line team.

Not only does the system save consumers money, it helps the environment. The filters reduce evaporative emissions that contribute to the greenhouse effect, and save landfill space because they don’t need to be replaced as often. They are made of 100 percent recycled materials that are recyclable themselves.

If you don’t have one of the new Ford F150s or Focuses, and still need to replace your air filters, here are some things you should keep in mind:

* To determine whether your air filter needs to be replaced, just lift it out (it isn't fastened down) and hold it up to the sun or to a strong light. If you can’t see light streaming through it, try dropping it lightly, bottom side down, on a hard surface. Doing so should jar some dirt loose. If the filter is still too dirty to see through after you've dropped it a few times, you need a new one.

* When buying an air filter, look for well-known, quality-brand filters; you can often get them quite cheaply at discount stores. Unknown brands sell for very little, but they aren't always of good quality, and if your air filter lets a lot of junk get into your carburetor, you may find that a cheap filter is very costly in the long run. If you need help determining which air filter is the one you need, go to your local auto supply store or to the parts department at your dealership. Give them your vehicle's make, model, and year. Make sure that the filter you get matches your old filter in size and shape. If it doesn't, you've been sold the wrong filter for your car.

* If you decide to change the filter yourself, always do so with the engine off, and never start or run the engine with the air filter out of place. Most filters can be easily replaced by removing snap clips, a clamp or several screws. Make sure you use the filter specified for your car’s engine; do not try to make a filter fit. An improperly fitting filter can allow unfiltered air into the engine, causing engine damage.
